“Treme”, a series created by Eric Overnyer and David Simon, is a drama series based on the lives of the people that have been affected by the hurricane “Katrina”. The show is named after a small neighborhood called “Treme” in New Orleans. The drama series focuses on how the people tries to rebuild what they have lost during the disaster.

The American drama series premiered back in April 2010. The pilot episode lasted for more than 80 minutes. “Treme” has a total of 10 episodes on its first season. After the airing of the pilot episode of the series, HBO immediately renewed the show for another season. The second season of the drama series premiered on April 2011.
Cast and Characters of “Treme”
• Antoine Batiste – portrayed by actor Wendell Pierce, Antoine is a trombonist who constantly searches for a potential gig. He still lives with his mother and his child. He also has two sons from his ex wife, LaDonna, whom he seldom sees.
• LaDonna Batiste-Williams – Portrayed by Khandi Alexander, LaDonna has his own tavern in the city of New Orleans. She takes care of her two sons and also her elderly mother.
• Creighton Bernett – portrayed by John Goodman, is n English teacher in the Tulane University. His wife is Toni Bernette.
• Toni Bernette – Melissa Leo portrays the role of Toni, the wife of Creighton. Toni works as a civil rights lawyer. She has a daughter named Sofia.
• Janette Desautel – portrayed by Kim Dickens, Janette struggles to run her own restaurant while she waits for the insurance to pay for the damages caused by the typhoon.
• Albert Lambreaux – also called “Big Chief”, Albert is portrayed by actor Clarke Peters. He is a Mardi Gras Indian chief who is very much respected in his community.
• Delmond Lambreaux – portrayed by Rob Brown, Delmond is a successful trumpet player. He finds better opportunity in New York rather than his hometown in New Orleans.
• Annie – portrayed by Lucia Micarelli, Annie lives as a street violinist but has a formal training for classical music.
• Davis McAlary – Steve Zahn portrays for this role. Davis whorks as part-time being a musician and a DJ. Davis is very passionate with the beauty of New Orleans and its rich culture. He condemns those who inflicts injustice to the environment.
• Terry Colson – portrayed by David Morse, Terry is a police officer and work on shifts as lieutenant of NOPD.

It has been announced that Isabella Rossellini who is best known for her role in ‘Blue Velvet’ will be joining the cast of ‘Treme’ where she will be playing the mother of Annie Tee who is played by Lucia Micarelli come season 3 of the show.

Rossellini comes from a very famous stock as the father was the renowned director Roberto Rossellini and the mother was another big Hollywood star Ingrid Bergman who starred in the hit movie ‘Casablanca’. Isabella was in the movie ‘Death Become Her’ which was released in 1992, and was also in ‘Infamous’ which was released in the year 2006. Some of her television appearances include stints in ‘30 Rock’ and ‘Alias’.
Another actor that will be making an appearance in the show is Chris Coy of ‘True Blood’. He too has been given a regular role in the show were he will be playing the character of a journalist who goes by the name of Everett. It was recently announced by HBO that they would be pushing back season 3 of the show to the later part of the year. A good and sad news for ‘Treme’ fans coming from the series creator David Simon is that the show is most likely to be picked up for a season 4 but that would be its final season.
